Theatre Scene Cape Town
Kaapstad Toneelhuis 4.0 is ready to offer Cape Town a great selection of theatre shows at their new 2nd floor location at 61 Loop Street.
Founded in 2022 by Lara Hattingh and Nardus Engelbrecht, Kaapstad Toneelhuis aims to be a one-stop shop for theatre. They describe it as a hidden indie arthouse theatre.
“With the ability to disappear and reappear in a brand new location over the course of a weekend we aim to always keep things fresh and exciting and push the boundaries of what can be considered as a night at the theatre”, shares this Toneelhuis team on their Facebook page.
“With our shared skill set, experience and resources we provide artists —young and established— with an opportunity to take the lead, creatively and financially, by creating a play with a brand identity that can be used as a marketable and profitable product.”

Aletta se splinternuwe stand-up komedie show, Effens Anders, bied ’n komiese en eerlike blik op haar huidige lewe – met al die snaakse, aweregse en downright bizarre dinge wat daarmee saamkom. Soos altyd bring sy haar skerp humorsin en natuurlike aanvoeling vir storievertelling, en laat jou skater van die lag met haar unieke uitkyk op die wêreld. ‘n Tragikomedie wat handel oor die enigmatiese inwoner op die boer beskermde Die Ark met die naam Katrina Kakkerlak. Sy is glo van Koekenaap en is onlangs uit die tronk vrygelaat. Niemand ken regtig veel van haar nie, behalwe dat sy gaande oor goggas is. En nes die verdoemde insekte hou sy die wêreld van onder dop en neem die kykers op ‘n eiesoortige, roerende en skreeusnaakse reis deur haar verlede vol skaduplekke en koue tralies tot in die sandpaaie van Die Ark. Sy wil maarnet behoort, maar die son is vedala en die maan hou vir niemand ‘n spot.
