Cape Town opera continues with its mission to introduce children to the magic of opera, with a screening of the delightful A Pocket Magic Flute on Sunday 9 March at 11h00 at The Wave Theatre in Cape Town, located on 44 long Street

Perfect for young children, this 40-minute film, a combination of acting and animation, is a pioneering educational opera project that reimagines Mozart’s The Magic Flute in Africa.

Pocket Opera is the creative team behind this groundbreaking adaptation that brings the engaging movie to life. Music for the project came from top African-American performers at Pocket Opera alongside orchestral tracks by young talent from the Oakland and Sacramento Youth Symphonies in the USA.
